Fertility experts play a crucial role in supporting you clinically, practically and emotionally as you navigate the challenges of trying to conceive, or of undergoing fertility treatment.
Here are several ways they can provide support:
Comprehensive clinical guidance
Accurate diagnoses and personalised treatment plans will help to reassure you that you are getting the best advice, individually tailored to your own situation. Using the most up to date knowledge and advanced techniques will give you the best chance of success. It is also the role of the fertility consultant to give you realistic expectations and to promptly answer any questions that you may have.
Educating and empowering
Ensuring that you know all your options, and why recommendations are being made, will help you to make informed decisions and choices about your own treatment. Giving explanations and imparting information in a way that is clear, unambiguous, and easy for you to understand is important.
Monitoring
If you undergo treatment, your consultant will carefully monitor your response to the stimulation medications and if necessary make any adjustments that are indicated to optimise the outcome. They will also ensure that you are aware of any physical side effects that you may experience.
Emotional support
Infertility and fertility treatment can be very challenging psychologically. Your consultant will be able to signpost you to avenues for additional emotional support, such as counselling or fertility coaching.
NOW-fertility
NOW-fertility’s consultants are all fertility experts with years of experience in providing supportive, personalised care. They will ensure that you have all the relevant information and guidance to make informed decisions about the treatment to have and the best place to have it. Once you start your treatment they will carry out enhanced monitoring to give you the best possible chance of success. Along with your nurse and care coordinator, they will be there to support you whenever you need them.
