A recent survey by UK charity Fertility Network UK found that 95% of almost 200 patients surveyed reported experiencing financial worries related to fertility treatment, and a significant proportion felt that these issues have been worsened by the cost-of-living crisis.
The charity is campaigning for all eligible patients to receive the three NHS-funded cycles of IVF treatment recommended by the NICE guidance, but with this yet to be implemented in many areas some patients are left with no option but to look to private treatment to realise their dreams of creating a family.
