Overview
To be responsible for the day to day clinical management of patients undergoing assisted conception treatment cycles via NOW-fertility, and be part of a global multidisciplinary team embracing technology solutions and innovative measures to offer an unparalleled experience for patients.
Key Responsibilities
To conduct virtual consultations with patients using any digital and/or remote solutions, including but not limited to the NOW-fertility secure cloud-based platform, with the primary objective of:
- Verifying that all necessary test results are available
- Verifying that the individualised treatment plan has been signed off by the physician
- Verifying that the treatment location form is complete
- Linking the patient with the partner clinic
- Verifying that all identifying and personal information is up to date
To explain to patients the treatment protocol
To virtually teach patients how to self-administer the fertility drugs which are part of the protocol
To virtually obtain all necessary consents for treatment
To liaise with partner clinics to ensure that patient care is seamless, and to confirm the individualised treatment plan (including the start date of treatment) and protocol as well as the outcome of the cycle
To review with the physician the ultrasound scan reports and results of any blood tests done during the treatment cycle
To advise patients when to have the ultrasound scans and/or blood tests
To advice patients of any changes in and/or additions to the treatment protocol, including dose and/or type of medication (ie, trigger injection, start of progesterone, start of the pill)
To confirm with the team at the partner clinic the date and time of egg collection and embryo transfer
To work as part of a team in a rota system to provide continuous clinical advice and support to patients 24/7 using any digital and/or remote solutions
To assist the NOW-fertility physicians, care coordinators and admin staff as necessary
To signpost patients to relevant external services (ie, counselling, surrogacy, donation), as required
To contribute to educational and training resources, including printed material and video recordings for patients
To participate in ongoing quality management including audits and risk assessments
To ensure compliance with legislative requirements in relevant countries and organisational codes of practice
To handle patient data responsibly at all times and be compliant with mandatory training
To work collaboratively with internal and external colleagues, treating everyone fairly and equally and encouraging and embracing diversity within the team.
To participate to in-person and/or virtual patient’s events, meetings and forums, as required
To represent NOW-fertility at events, meetings, forums and congresses, as required
Person Specification
Qualifications & experience
Registered NMC (or equivalent) nurse with previous experience within a fertility clinic setting – (essential)
Fully conversant and comfortable with the use of electronic medical records, patient portal and virtual platforms to conduct consultations and coaching of medications self-administration – (essential)
Ability to speak additional languages – (desirable)
