Centro HERA - UMR

Created in 1995, the HERA Center – Reproductive Medicine Unit has a team of gynecologists, andrologists, embryologists, biologists, geneticists and psychologists, all highly specialised in human reproduction and assisted reproductive technology (ART).

With more than 1500 in vitro procedures a year, the tailored application of ART to each couple and the constant monitoring of the highest standards of quality, we are definitively known as being the reference centre for the resolution of couple infertility in Italy.

In 2000 our team performed the first pre-implantation genetic testing (PGT) for beta-thalassemia in Italy. Since then, we have invested in high standard technology such as time lapse embryo culture for the constant non-invasive monitoring of embryo viability, or next generation sequencing for PGT of genetic diseases and chromosomal abnormalities in house. The efficacy of each procedure such as IUI, IVF, ICSI, IMSI, embryo biopsy, genetic testing in PGT, gamete and embryo preservation, gamete donation and clinical patient preparation is optimised to maximize the chances of having a live birth for each couple. 

Our clinic has 3 operating theatres, 5 laboratories and 8 consultation rooms, across 4 floors and is surrounded by a very pleasant park. We can provide our patients with comfortable accommodation very close to the clinic (20m).
