Since 2021 the law in the United Arab Emirates has allowed women to freeze their eggs for both medical and social reasons, including single women wanting to freeze their eggs now for use in the future after they are married.
Women have become empowered to make decisions about their own fertility, whether they are looking to delay pregnancy until they are in a stable situation financially, career wise or relationship wise, or to no longer face losing the potential to start a family if they need medical treatment that could endanger this. However there are still some questions and misconceptions about what egg freezing can achieve, who it is suitable for and what the chances are of a successful outcome in the future.
