The costs of egg freezing vary widely based on factors such as the geographic location, fertility clinic, chosen length of storage, and individual circumstances. In general, egg freezing is a not a significant financial investment, but it’s important for women looking at this avenue to be aware of the costs involved. The fees typically include:

  • Ovarian Stimulation Medications
  • Monitoring and Ultrasound Fees
  • Egg Retrieval Procedure
  • Laboratory Processing and Cryopreservation Fees
  • Storage Fees

As for the discomfort associated with the egg freezing procedure, the harvesting of eggs is typically performed under sedation or light anaesthesia. After the procedure, some women may experience mild cramping or discomfort in the lower abdomen, but this is usually temporary lasting a few hours. Women return home a few hours after the procedure, and most of them are able to resume normal activities and exercise within a day or two.
