Standby for the Artificial Intelligence revolution in fertility practice

Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence (AI) are playing an ever-increasing role in healthcare diagnostics.

Recently the media has reported that an American clinic is using both technologies to achieve greater success by more accurately predicting which embryos created via IVF have a better chance of becoming babies. And it’s this kind of technology that is likely to have increasing influence across fertility practice around the world in the future

NOW-fertility believes that using AI to aid, but not replace, human decision making and implementation of clinical pathways in modern healthcare systems, will create better patient outcomes, more manageable physician workflows and greater efficiencies.

It will do this by creating a virtual fertility clinic which will gather large and diverse datasets of information from each case, which physicians can leverage to further inform their own experience and knowledge.

In the future we also expect to use it to create algorithms to help practitioners standardise some areas of healthcare and optimise the decision-making process.

When NOW-fertility launches its digital IVF services in Spring 2022, it will use the latest, state-of-the-art technologies to help patients and their fertility teams to make well-informed choices. It will integrate Machine Learning to prognosticate the best chances of success and use AI to help make the patient journey smoother and more engaging.

This will not only ensure we maximise the chances of a successful pregnancy, but importantly, also ensure every patient feels empowered and in control of their treatment cycle.
