As a NOW-fertility nurse, I wear many hats – I am an educator and an advocate, ensuring patients understand the intricacies of the IVF journey, from treatment protocols to the emotional toll that comes with it.
Taking the decision to proceed to egg freezing, even though it is becoming more and more common these days, is still not an easy one to make for many women.
I have recently been taking care of a lady who has undergone egg freezing at our partner clinic in Cairo, which was one of the first IVF clinics established in Egypt back in 1986.
Throughout her journey with NOW-fertility our patient was closely followed and supported by me, as her personal fertility nurse, including arranging the mandatory screening tests for the egg freezing cycle and meeting with her in virtual consultations where the entire process was explained thoroughly.
Upon starting treatment, all the necessary documents and information were transmitted securely to the medical team in Egypt after first being reviewed by the team at NOW-fertility responsible for the patient’s care.
In our efforts to make this journey as easy and stress free as possible, when it was time for the patient to travel to Egypt for the last stage of her treatment, not only was she provided with all the relevant information but also the contact details for the individual team member who greeted her upon arrival. She was also given the contact details for a trusted travel agency that assisted her to book accommodation close to our partner clinic to facilitate her transport.
The expertise and professionalism of our teams as well as the seamless communication was reflected by the patient’s decision to proceed to another egg freezing cycle in the upcoming months at the same NOW-fertility partner clinic in Egypt.
